Vehicle-based outdoor product development
DINLEEY develops car-camping and travel storage systems—including structured vehicle organizers, folding boxes and sewn soft goods—around the complete journey from loading and organizing to setup, use, cleaning and repacking.
Planning 4WD or ute soft cargo for Australia or New Zealand? Start with our 4WD boot & ute soft cargo OEM brief.
We work with brands and product teams to turn a use case, product brief, reference sample or early concept into a practical construction. Support can include structure development, pattern making, prototyping, material and component planning, cost alignment and production coordination.

Car-camping and travel products we help develop
Vehicle storage & folding systems
Vehicle-fit cabinets, divided-lid boxes, collapsible hard cases and modular storage developed around cargo space, packing order, access and campsite workflow.
Travel & campsite organization
Packable organizers, towel and personal-item storage, modular utility bags and soft systems that move efficiently between vehicle and campsite.
Soft coolers & insulated bags
Insulated soft products developed around the required capacity, carrying method, opening structure, lining construction and specified performance target.
Car-care & utility kits
Storage for towels, cleaning products, tools and related accessories, with compartments and materials selected for the intended task.
Designed around the trip, not only the object
A travel product may be packed at home, carried through a building, loaded into a vehicle, stacked with other equipment, opened outdoors and returned with used or damp contents. Each stage can change the right size, handle position, opening direction, internal organization and material choice.
We map this sequence before finalizing the structure. The goal is a product that works as a complete system while remaining realistic to sample, manufacture, inspect and repeat.
Development from use scenario to production readiness
01
Use scenario & pack list
Define the user, trip context, vehicle, intended contents, loading sequence and required access points.
02
Carry, open & setup structure
Develop dimensions, panels, handles, straps, closures, dividers and folding behavior around the real workflow.
03
Materials & components
Align fabrics, linings, insulation, reinforcement, mesh, webbing, zippers and hardware with appearance, use and target cost.
04
Samples & production readiness
Review working samples, refine construction, confirm quality points and prepare the approved specification for production.
Key product-development considerations
- Vehicle packability: footprint, height, collapse or folding method, stacking behavior and compatibility with the intended cargo area.
- Access and setup: how quickly the user can identify, open, remove and return items during a trip.
- Clean and used-item separation: compartment planning, removable elements and lining choices based on the defined use case.
- Load and carrying comfort: handle placement, strap geometry, reinforcement and shape retention for the expected contents.
- Material behavior: abrasion, cleanability, moisture exposure, insulation needs, surface appearance and storage conditions.
- Manufacturing efficiency: pattern yield, sewing sequence, number of operations, component availability and inspection consistency.
Structured and sewn construction with coordinated components
DINLEEY’s product-development scope covers structured vehicle storage and sewn functional products, including structure planning, patterns, cutting, sewing, reinforcement, assembly and sample refinement. Depending on the specification, a project may combine outer fabrics, linings, foam or insulation, boards, webbing, mesh, zippers, hook-and-loop materials, buckles and other hardware.
When rigid or specialized elements are required, we can coordinate supporting suppliers for rigid parts and metal hardware. Final material and construction decisions are made against the approved project requirements rather than generic performance claims.
collaboration for brands and product teams
We support new product programs, range extensions, adaptations of existing products and manufacturability improvements. A project can start with detailed technical files or with an earlier brief that requires development work before a production quotation can be confirmed.
Car-camping and travel product FAQ
Can DINLEEY develop a car-camping product from a concept or pack list?
Yes. A use scenario, intended contents, sketches, reference photos or a pack list can provide the starting point for structure development and sampling.
Can one product be designed for both vehicle transport and campsite use?
Yes. We can evaluate the transition between packing, vehicle transport, carrying, setup and outdoor use so the construction supports the complete workflow.
Can you develop insulated bags or cooler-style products?
Yes. Development can cover capacity, opening structure, carrying method, insulation and lining construction. Any required thermal target or test method should be defined in the project specification.
What information should we share for a project review?
Useful inputs include the target user, trip or vehicle context, intended contents, dimensions, reference products, preferred materials, target market, quantity range, timing and target cost.
