2027: what is fixed and what is still pending
- Fixed by regulation: under the national holiday rules revised in November 2024 and in force since 1 January 2025, Spring Festival has 4 statutory days off (Chinese New Year’s Eve and the first three days of the lunar year), Labour Day 2 days (1–2 May), National Day 3 days (1–3 October), and New Year’s Day, Qingming, Dragon Boat and Mid-Autumn 1 day each (regulation text on gov.cn).
- Usual arrangement: the 2025 notice states that, except in special cases, Spring Festival runs 8 days from New Year’s Eve, National Day 7 days from 1 October and Labour Day 5 days, with the other holidays 3 days, using make-up working days (2025 notice on gov.cn).
- Pending: the exact 2027 days off and make-up working days. Until the State Council notice is published, keep 2027 sample and shipment dates provisional around these holidays.
How the holidays affect OEM sampling and production
| Work item | Before the holiday | After the holiday |
|---|---|---|
| Sample round | Send comments and approvals before the last working day so the next round can start before the break | Revision restarts on the first working day; agree the new sample date then |
| Materials and hardware | Confirm fabric, lining and hardware choices early; material suppliers close for the same holidays | Deliveries resume after the suppliers restart |
| Bulk production | Fix the approved sample and specification revision before the break | Check the first output after restart against the approved sample |
| Spring Festival | The longest break of the year; agree the plan with the factory well before it | Staff travel and supplier restarts can make the practical pause longer than the official dates; confirm the factory schedule |
